PROGRAMME
WEEKS 1-3: The Gravity Exhibition
facilitated by Michael Waldron and Julie Forrester
- Equilibrium: Taking advantage of the current Gravity exhibition, this session will explore how artists play with ideas of Weight and Balance.
- Textures and Floating Planes: This session will continue our focus on the Gravity exhibition with a look at Weight in 2D materials, both suggested and real.
- Weight Concepts: Our final week focusing on the Gravity exhibition will explore Photography, Weightlessness and the Surreal, and will return to ideas of the body in space… with a pinch of humour along the way!
WEEKS 4-6: Harry Clarke
facilitated by Victoria Evans and Julie Forrester
This sessions will focus on the work of Harry Clarke and will make reference to the art nouveau.

WEEKS 7-9: Ut pictura poesis…Art and Literature
facilitated by Michael Waldron and Julie Forrester
A three-week journey through the connections between Art and Literature
- Portraiture: This session will begin our look at the sister arts of painting and literature.
- Stone Mad: With excerpts from Seamus Murphy book Stone Mad, this session will focus on the sculptor’s portrait busts of his literary friends.
- Women and their Art: This session will explore the impact of four women as artist-writer, artist-subject, artist-creator and writer-subject.
WEEKS 10-12: A Rocky Road
facilitated by Leslie Allen Spillane and Julie Forrester
An exploration of the Barry Cooke exhibition. (More details to follow)
